More About the Project

Nicholas is focused on the movement of two polar bear sub-populations in the Western Hudson Bay and the Southern Beaufort Sea. His work, commencing from April 2023 to August 2024, is identifying critical drivers for polar bear movement in these areas, which will support the development of appropriate management strategies to better protect them.

About Polar Bears

These extraordinary animals live in the Arctic regions of Canada, the United States, Greenland, Norway, and Russia. As apex predators, they’re found at the top of the food chain. They use ice platforms to hunt seals, their favorite food, and they’re built for this chilly environment. Polar bears have thick layers of fat and fur to keep them warm. Their wide paws help them travel over the ice and swim through the water. Plus, their curved, sharp claws keep them steady and help them grip their prey.

Polar bear

The only negative is it was so much smaller than the other 2 animals I bought. I would like to see the size of the animal so the child is not disappointed. Packaging was so tight, the bottom of the bag was open, but all animals were ok and not damaged!

It made our son very happy!

Our son loves being an Earth Ranger. This is the second adoption that he has made. The first was the Red Panda (his favourite animal). He absolutely loves the new addition to his collection. I love that there is so much value in the adoption kit. The quality is top notch!

My 7yo was very persistent in wanting to adopt. Her first choice arctic fox was not available so we got the polar bear.
She was very eager to open the package when it arrived, and it did not disappoint. She proudly hung up the certificate and poster on her wall.
It's a bit pricey for what it is, but for a good cause and came w a tax receipt
