More About the Project

By taking photos, ground measurements, and using airborne and spaceborne monitoring, Sandra and her team are studying tree damage from spruce bark beetles and forest recovery. The outcomes of this research will be shared with the local community to help with forest management planning.

About Lynxes

Lynxes belong to the cat family. They’re known for their thick fur and tufted ears — and for their wide paws, which look like they’re wearing snowshoes! They live in the taiga biome across Canada, Alaska, and the northern United States, so their thick fur and “snowshoes” come in handy.
