More About the Project

Megan and her team are removing invasive species such as common buckthorn, dog-strangling vine, and phragmites, which crowd out native plants and threaten the surrounding habitats. Also, they’re hosting workshops to encourage and empower the local community to help with this important conservation effort.

About Snowy Owls

Snowy owls have beautiful white and brown feathers that camouflage them against their snowy habitats. Their feathers form rings around their bright yellow eyes and help reflect sound to their ears. These birds of prey are almost three feet tall, with wingspans of almost four feet.
