The Sea Turtle Protection Project engages children in the local community in learning about the importance of protecting the environment, and involves them in important conservation measures to protect these sensitive species.

Gerardo is just one of the local children taking part in the Sea Turtle Protection Project! Along with local leaders, this amazing group of kids are helping to monitor nests, clean up the beaches, and releaseendangered hatchlings into the wild. Support their work by adopting a sea turtle!

About Sea Turtles

There are seven different sea turtle species in the world: flatback, green, hawksbill, leatherback, loggerhead, Kemp’s ridley, and olive ridley.
These creatures can be found in all oceans, except for the polar regions. While the green sea turtle eats seagrass and algae, flatback and leatherback sea turtles are mostly carnivorous and prefer small sea creatures.
